There are typically 3 steps in getting your first web site up and
running. First, register a domain name (see hosting). URL's that end in .com's
are 5 times more respected in the internet world than any other domain name. Second,
to host your site, there is a monthly re-accuring cost, usually starting at $24.95/month. (see hosting).
Hosting allows your web page space on a network server and offers other services
like e-mail accounts, forwarding, auto responders, secure applications
etc. Third, is design. Design can be everything from a single
informative page, to multiple pages, applications, useful online tools,
pictures, etc. Depending on your kind of business, your web page may not
need constant updating, other than a yearly refresh.
Standard Design packages start at $399.00 (Usually
Includes Index page plus 4 additional pages (information, contact us, order
form, company icon, 5 pictures, 3 animation)
Most design packages are based off time needed for
development. With an initial meeting, your web designer will be able to
quote the amount of time your web page will require and therefore give you an
estimate cost, based on your individual needs.
Updates
or Web Development
Updates on a current web page are priced per hours needed
to accomplish such updates. With an initial meeting with your web
designer, you will be able to have a quote based on the amount of time your web
page will require for upgrade. Again, this is an individual site need.
